New CHA-UK Association - with Sara as Chair!
The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) is the biggest organisation in the US that brings craft companies together. Some of you may know that Sara’s been on the Board of Directors for the last two and a half years, and during this time she has been working hard on an initiative to bring the CHA to the UK. Well, her dream was realised last month!
Excitingly, Sara has been elected by other CHA-UK board members into the role of Chair of the Board! This means she’ll be responsible for representing the UK’s craft industry and promoting crafting as a hobby! That’s great news for you too, as the more crafters there are, the bigger the pool of inspiration you’ll have to dip into!
Sara says she is “delighted and incredibly honoured to have been given this important role” and she is looking forward to working with craft companies across the UK to help CHA-UK meet its goals!
We’d like to say to Sara - we’re all very proud of you here in CCHQ and wish you all the best in your new role!

Birthday Girl!
Morning Everyone!
Sara here - thought i'd just nip on to let you know that it's our Meg's birthday! For any of you who don't know, Meg is our marketing lady here at CCHQ and she's been with us for over 4 years now, but her and I go way back, as we were best friends at University, and she lived with me in my student digs back in York in the 'good old days' and was there holding my hand, and making me multiple cups of tea to get me through those stressful, intense early days of the business!
Anyway, she's turned the grand old age of 28 this morning, so I set to yesterday evening to make her a card - I wanted to use one of my favourite images - I love this stamp from the Strawberry Kisses Collection (it's called Birthday Kitten) and i've just used a couple of the beautiful papers from the Strawberry Kisses CD ROM and chosen colours that match in with my stamp colours. (The sentiment stamp is actually from my Humphrey's Corner set - the Make a Wish plate from a Year with Humphrey Collection)
I of course used my Spectrum Noir pens and here are the colours I used:
Kitten shades of pink and cake icing: PP1, 3, 4
Purple Cake Case: LV1, 2
Cream on the cake: TN1, 2
Candle Flame: CT3, 4
The ribbon is from the Beatrix Potter female selection, ad the Gems are also from our Beatrix Potter collection. Core'dinations is from the Pastels selection (which I just LOVE) and those are some bits of flowers from my stash at home!
Hope you can all join me in wishing Meg a very happy birthday!

Meadow Cottage Bears colouring
Morning everyone!
Well that was a lovely show at 8am with Dave - for anyone who didn't catch the show, I did a colouring in demonstration using our Spectrum Noir Pens and I promised to put the colour numbers up on the blog here that I used for the whole image (as I only had chance to show a portion of it on the show)
For the fur- TN1,2,3,6
Paw pads - EB5, TN3,6
Small bear - EB5, TN3,6
Red Ribbon - DR6,7, CR7

Update from Peterborough
Evening everyone!
Just a quick update from down here. It's been a busy old day! Consisting of setup, show, cuppa, show, show, Sarnie, show, gossip, show, shopping, eating, CRAFTING!
It's been pretty intense in the studio's with back to back shows all day, but Jo Austin and Dawn Wheeler have been in the studios for shows too, so ive had good company and we've had a giggle between shows!
The Pick of the Week got off to flying start (again, which we knew it would because I know how much you all loved the Paintbox Poppets from Christine Haworth and these Meadow Cottage Bears are just as cute!)
Anyway, here's a quick shot of my counters in case anyone didn't get chance to catch any of the shows today!
And here's magic hands! (or one of them!)
Now I've already mentioned that the lovely Dawn was in doing shows today and I grabbed a quick shot of her and Gen during their 'Best of British' show...
And I've got to show you the fabulous necklace she had made with the ribbon on her show... She'd been on Sarah's jewellery class on the cruise and she's now caught the beading bug!
I was admiring Dawn's cards she was making during the shows, so she gave me one to take away, and then better than that, because I enthused so much, she gave me a whole kit to bring away! :)
So I've had the most wonderful evening! It's been a bit of a busmans holiday, but because it's totally different to all the crafting I've been doing all week prepping for the shows, I've really enjoyed myself!
I've had American Idol on in the background and I've had my little desk setup in the flat with the Create & Craft App on my iPad with Dawn's show playing for inspiration! I haven't made many cards, but it's a good start on my jubilee cards (I have to say I wasn't planning on making any jubilee cards, but as I'm quite enjoying it I might make a few more this week now!)
I'm off to email Dawn pictures of what I've made!
I hope you can join me in the morning at 8am with Davey-B again - I'm planning to get a stamping demo in as these Meadow Cottage Bears stamps are gorgeous to colour with the Spectrum Noir Pens. I'm also on at 1,5 and 7pm tomorrow and then 4 and 6pm on Sunday.
